Privacy Policy

• We don't sell your data. Ever.
• We don't run ads or ad tracking.
• We collect only what we need to run your membership and the community.
• You control whether you're discoverable, and you can delete your account and data.

• Account details — your email and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Profile you choose to add — things like your name, photo, bio, country, and links. This is up to you.
• Connection details (opt-in and sensitive)— if you choose to use the connection features, you may tell us how you want to connect and, optionally, details like orientation or dating intent. You provide this only if you want to, it's used only to help you connect, and you can remove it at any time.
• What you post — experiences, reviews, photos, event plans, and messages you send to other members.
• Billing — handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. We receive your subscription status and a customer reference, but not your full card number.
• Basic usage — light, privacy-respecting analytics about how the site is used, so we can make it better. Fuller analytics using cookies load only if you agree to them.

• To run your membership and give you access to the community.
• To let you connect with other members when, and only when, you opt in.
• To send you essential emails (like password resets and account notices) and the guides and updates that come with membership.
• To keep the community safe and enforce our culture and terms.
• To understand what's working and improve the experience.

We share data only with the trusted service providers that make Barefoot & Wonder work, and only what they need:

• Lemon Squeezy — payments and subscription billing.
• Resend — sending our emails.
• Vercel & our database host — hosting the site and storing data securely.
• Privacy-respecting analytics — understanding usage.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members.

Anything you choose to make visible in the community, your profile, experiences you share, and messages you send, can be seen by the members you share it with. You decide whether you're discoverable, and you can block or report anyone. Please treat other members' information with the same care you'd want for your own.

We keep a light, private count of visits so we can improve the site. You can allow fuller analytics that use cookies, or decline, from the banner when you first visit, and either way there are no ads and nothing is sold. Essential cookies needed to keep you logged in are always on.

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and sensible access controls, and we keep sensitive connection details separated from the rest of your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and work to keep your information safe.

We keep your data for as long as you're a member, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and accounting reasons. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your profile and personal content from the active community. Some records may remain in secure backups for a limited time before they age out.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain uses. You can do much of this yourself from your profile, turning off discovery, removing connection details, or deleting your account, and you can always email us to ask for help.

Barefoot & Wonder is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors.

If we update this policy, we'll change the date above and, for meaningful changes, let members know. Please check back from time to time.
